Infection Control Courses
 
You have a variety of delivery methods in which you can access infection control training, depending on the need and level of training you wish to achieve for the individual and the Dental Practice.

 
 
Length of workshop: Half day – 4 hour session
 
Half day seminar includes: a power point presentation, Customized training, Certificates of Attendance (Clinical points) for those who participate, Practical activities. Auxiliary staff, Management and Principles of the practice are welcome to attend.

Staff who feel they would like to attain Nationally Recognized Units in the area of Infection Control / Sterilization can enrol from the National Health Training Package HLT12.

This is a correspondence module which requires the participant to complete written exams and /or assignments and be assessed at the workplace.
 
Information and exercises are sent out to the Student to provide creative learning and self assessment material. When they feel they are competent they can sit the written exam paper under supervision at the practice.

Motivated practices who feel they would like to develop an on going staff development programme or extend the sessions of training, can establish customized short courses for their staff in specific streams of Infection Control. These can be developed for your individual practices needs.
 
These are charged on individual requirements and length of training. They can be delivered at our training centre at 37 Hargreaves Street, Belmont or at the Dental Practice.
 
Lecturing Staff
 
All Staff have a minimum of  6 years experience in Dental Assisting or Dental Nursing with a Qualification recognised in W.A. and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessing. Lecturers in this area delivering the training are in constant communication with Government and Private professionals in the Infection Control area and attend courses in infection control to complement the Australian Dental Association policies.
