EXPRESSION OF INTEREST LETTER


MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS
• Completion of year 10 with an average level of 3.5 in four Learning Areas including an English and Mathematics, or equivalent.
• Provision for enrolment may be accepted where length, breadth and depth of experience and or other qualifications are    indicative of success in the programme.
Applicants without these formal requirements can establish an interview with the College for advice on further learning pathways   to enter the programme.

SELECTION CRITERIA
If there are more applicants for a Full-time course than there are places, Selection Criteria will be used. The selection Criteria is based on previous education and training, and relevant paid or unpaid work experience. Information in College Handbook regarding this process.

GRADUATE EMPLOYMENT / COURSE DESCRIPTION
This qualification is designed to equip Students with the essential knowledge, skills and attributes required to work effectively in the Health Care setting in Dental Practice Management. Graduates are in a position to seek relevant employment in the General, Government and Specialist Dental Profession which requires a degree of responsibility, discretion, judgement, creativity, analytical planning and evaluation.

CLIENTS
The key clients for this qualification are Graduates from Certificate III or IV Dntal Assisting or equivalent, Graduates form the Certificate IV Dental Reception, those wishing to enter a different industry sector, those wishing formal recognition for their skills and knowledge already employed in this industry.

DELIVERY AND ASSESSMENT ARRANGEMENTS
Organization

The 9 units of competency in the qualification have been organised into an off the job training programme comprising of eight (8) "General work skills" modules and one (1) "Applied Industry skills" modules.

The programme is organised to provide Students with back ground information on General work skills such as OHS in general work skills modules and the opportunity to apply these skills in the Industry specific modules.

Therefore OHS appears in both areas. The Students will only successfully complete both modules when deemed competent in both module areas.

This programme is delivered entirely off - the -job at our Organizations Training Colleges in Bunbury, Mandurah and Geraldton.

For each module, Students are provided with training manuals, which include all materials used in the training sessions, assessment materials and reference material.

SCHEDULE
The Full-time training programme is conducted over twenty- week period.

Student entering the part-time training programme will have customised training programmes developed to meet flexible learning delivery incorporating blended learning. Including online learning and assessment Programme follows the same order of modules and assessment processes.

ASSESSMENT VALIDATION APPROACH
The process used to validate assessment in this programme are:

• Program manager meets with representatives from the medical profession on an annual basis to check the performance standards   required in the programme are consistent with industry practice.
• Programme manager convenes annual meeting of assessment panel comprising subject specialists in medical software, OHS,   Infection control standards, medical accounting and general medical representative to review evidence-gathering tools.
• External facilitator conducts two moderation meetings attended by all assessors. The first meeting held prior to commencement,   confirms the evidence gathering techniques and the required standards of performance. The second meeting, held one week after   the programme, focuses on reviewing assessment tools and decisions.

INFRASTRUCTURE REQUIREMENTS
• All staff (including full-time, part-time and casual staff) involved in delivery and assessment of this qualification, have direct access   to the current version of the relevant Training Package, including the appropriate units of competency, assessment guidelines and   qualification structure.
• All staff (including full-time Part-time and casual staff) involved in delivering the programme have access to trainer, assessor and   candidate support materials relevant to their areas of delivery and assessment.
• All assessors have access to print and electronic copies of the assessment tools used in this programme.
• Kingston Training and Employment Pty Ltd has access to staff and training and assessment resources to met the requirements of   candidates with special need and has an assessment process that incorporates reasonable adjustment procedures.
• Kingston Training and Employment Pty Ltd has reviewed the equipment and facility requirements for each unit of competency in   the qualification and guarantees it has access to the appropriate technology and equipment needed to implement the   programme.

PATHWAYS
All candidates who undertake the Certificate III in Business (Office Administration) Medical Reception are provided with advice on employment and training options.

RESOURCES AND FACILITIES
Kingston Training and Employment Pty Ltd has established three training centres close to the centre of Bunbury, Mandurah Geraldton for easy access. These centres contain a comfortable, modern training environment to enhance learning.
Air-conditioned with comfortable chairs and desks, Refreshment area with tea & coffee supplied, Urn, fridge, microwave, oven.
Each centre also contains:
Data projector, computers, Overhead projector, T.V. video, whiteboards, Library.
Training Package Business Services Volume 1 and 4., Health Training Package.
Training resource material, learning modules, CDs, Power point presentations, Legislation information, Videos, Library resource, Assessment tools, Recording procedures & policies. Kingston Training and Employment Procedure and Policy manual following the AQTF, Student Handbook.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING
All enrolled Students have the opportunity to apply for RPL & RCC. Information provided in the Student Handbook. This process will recognise their past experience, skills and knowledge they may have attained through out their working life or schooling. This will enable them to achieve recognition for the competencies for the modules in the programme without the formal training process and assessment.

RECOGNITION OF CURRENT COMPETENCIES AND PRIOR LEARNING

PRIVACY AND DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION
All information supplied by students is kept in locked cabinets in a secure, alarmed brick building. Key is only held by the CEO and Senior Lecturer. Information is only provided if the Student is personally present with the CEO or Senior Lecturer. Information is only released on the completion and signature of a "Release of Information Form" by the student concerned. Information regarding this process can be found in the Policy Procedure Manual and the Student Handbook.
Following the Privacy Act, the information provided by Students is only used for the purpose for which it was collected. Information provided may be required by the auditing bodies, authorised by the Western Australian Dept of Education and Training.

FOLLOWING THE REGISTERED TRAINING ORGANISATION
(Australian Quality Training Framework Standards)

Systems for quality training and assessment. Systems are in place to plan for and provide quality training and assessment across all of our operations.
Access and Equity policies to ensure that Vocational Education and Training is responsive to the diverse needs of all clients, therefore providing equitable training so that clients can achieve their desired outcomes.
Flexible Learning approach to Vocational Education which allows for the adoption of a range of learning strategies in a variety of learning environments to cater for differences in learning styles, interests and needs.
Delivery and Assessment Strategies policies includes qualification or that part of are only delivered within the Registered Training Organisation Scope of registration, meet the requirements of the endorsed components of associated training packages and the outcomes as specified in accredited courses.
Mutual Recognition policies enable the acceptance by other RTO to recognise National Qualification under the Australian Qualification Framework enabling individuals to receive national recognition of their achievements.
Recognition of Prior Learning policies offers recognition of competencies (through work experience, life experiences, past training) currently held, regardless, how, when or where the learning occurred.
Risk Management polices provide a systematic application of management policies, procedures and practices to the tasks of identifying, analysing, evaluating, treating and monitoring risk to ensure a safe, secure, quality learning environment.
Compliance with Commonwealth, State/Territory Legislation and Regulation requirements. We ensure compliance with Commonwealth, State/Territory Legislation and regulatory requirements relevant to our operations and are integrated into our policies and procedures and are also maintained.
Financial management procedures and policies are effective, appropriate and are implemented.
Administration and records management procedure policies are in place and utilised effectively.
Competence of Staff policies ensure all staff involved in training and assessment or client services are competent and have the appropriate qualification and experience for the functions they perform.
Learning and assessment strategies identify, negotiate, plans and implements appropriate learning and assessment strategies to meet the needs of each of its clients.
Issuing of Qualifications and Statements of Attainment meet the requirements of the AQF implementation handbook and the endorsed training packages and accredited courses within the scope of our registration.
Language, numeracy and literacy support is provided during application process and throughout the training programme.
Grievance, Complaints and Appeals policies and processes have been developed for students to access clearly and be equitable, reasonable and fair.
Client services include comfortable training facilities, informed supportive caring staff, information and support in career paths, employment, literacy and numeracy, women's issues, aboriginal services, disability services, emotional and counselling services.
